"It's time to resign": The Liberal Democratic Party attacks Deputy Mayor Aprile.

A €136,000 contract, a young cooperative with the deputy mayor's twin sister as its partner, and a silence deemed serious. This is the focus of the frontal attack by the Liberal Democratic Party of Foggia , which, in a statement signed by provincial representative Matteo Viggiani, is calling for the resignation of Lucia Aprile , a member of the Five Star Movement and deputy mayor of the government led by Maria Aida Episcopo .
“Ignoring a contract is even more serious than awarding it”According to the press release, the case of the award to a cooperative that includes the deputy mayor's sister is "grotesque." The company, it emphasizes, was established only a few months ago and was awarded a contract worth over one hundred thousand euros. Yet, Aprile allegedly claimed to be unaware of the procedure when he learned of the news from the press. For Viggiani, however, "this statement is perhaps even more serious because it ignores the oversight responsibilities that local administrators have."
The Liberal Democratic Party also emphasized the political anomaly of the case: "A truly exceptional event, involving a leading figure of the Five Star Movement, a force that has built its identity on the fight against corruption and bad politics."
From megaphone to responsibility: "Now we need consistency."The press release recalls the battles fought in the past by Lucia Aprile herself, then an activist in the streets "with a megaphone" to denounce opaque and distorted management, including those related to the contract with AMIU Puglia signed by the prefectural commissioners. Today, however, it states, that same management appears to have become "suddenly efficient and effective," despite the continued critical issues reported by citizens.
“The green has turned yellow”The criticism also extends to the city's actual management, particularly urban decay. "We're not calling for her resignation because of the contract itself," Viggiani clarifies, "but because of the poor management of public green spaces." Neglected green spaces, dying trees, indiscriminate felling, and abandoned waste: according to the party, these are the real reasons why the deputy mayor should step down. "Foggia is one of the hottest cities in Italy, yet trees are cut down without a plan, weeds are allowed to grow, and environmental degradation is tolerated."
The Liberal Democratic Party also denounces the "nauseating smell" that pervades the city every summer, which, they say, has never been addressed with concrete action. "It's the result of a populist government: protests without proposals, slogans without solutions."
“We need seriousness, not ambiguity”The final message is clear: "Foggia needs seriousness, not ambiguity. We now demand consistency from those who preached honesty and transparency. The city's best interests must come before any personal justification. Enough slogans: it's time to resign."
